These are some of the most picturesque and popular vacation photography locations on Maui.  Just imagine you and your group in one of these beautiful beach locations! You can also choose any other location you want such as your favorite beach, hotel grounds or private residence.

SOUTH MAUI

South Maui has some of the most beautiful uncrowded beaches on Maui.  There are many great beaches to choose from , these are a few of my favorites.
Charley Young Beach, Kihei
Great central Kihei location, easy access down a flight of stairs, great lava rock formations. Click here for a  map pf this location.

Haycraft Park, Near Maalaea Harbor
Always uncrowded, stretches of open beach for miles, parking lot and easy access.  Only downfall is this beach does not have many palm trees, what you see in the photos is it! Click Here for a map of this location.

WEST MAUI
West Maui is where the bulk of the large resorts are on Maui.  It encompasses Lahaina, Kaanapali, Kapalua and Napili.
Kahekili Beach Park, Kaanapali
Good for shorter sessions as there is not a lot of variety of backdrops.  Easy access, good parking and facilities. This beach tends to be crowded due to it's central location.
Oneloa Beach, Kapalua
Amazing hidden white sand beach in Kapalua. Great rock formations on either end of the beach make for interesting backdrops.  Access can be tricky as there is a steep path to get down to the beach.
Kaanapali Beach Walk, Kaanapali
There is a paved beach walk that stretches the length of Kaanapali Beach Resort area.  This Beach walk is full of great photo opportunities and great beaches.  This is my favorite West Maui location because of the ease of access and variety of backdrops.  The only downfall is it tends to get very crowded in peak season. This location is best for couples and small family groups.

Hammok, Kaanapali Beach
Honokowai Beach Park, Honokowai
Honokowai Beach Park is a great little beach park between Kaanapali and Napili.  It has ample parking and very flat easy access to the beach.   It doesn't have much variety in scenery but it does have some great old trees on the beach.

Makena Beach
Local's call this beach "big beach" there is a reason for it, it is a huge untouched state park of a beach.  It has 3 entrances and amazing scenery.  The only downfall is because of it's size you need to do a lot of walking and it does get a little crowded at times because it is so great.

Wailea Beach
This beach is a little crescent in front of the 4 seasons and the Grand Wailea.  It can get pretty busy because of the resorts. It does have a nice grassy area in the entrance that is nice for photos too.

Po'olenalena Beach Park
Located just south of Wailea, this is my favorite beach for portraits.  It is usually uncrowded, it has 2 long sandy beaches seperated by a lava rock path, a parking lot, level entry to the beach and great rock formations which make a great backdrop.

Secret Cove Beach
Located south of Wailea and Makena.  Literally a hole in the wall beach, this small beach is lovely and has some great areas for portraits, the only drawback is it is very popular for weddings and may already be in use for photography!
